Volunteers Wanted

Yokohama Marathon 2015 will feature a full marathon event for the first time. You are welcome to support this full marathon race as a volunteer. Bring your friends with you and make the race a great fun event! Let race participants experience the hospitality of a city of 3.7 million people.
Activity days March 13 (Friday), 14 (Saturday) and 15 (Sunday), 2015
Number of volunteers wanted Approx. 6,000 (5,600 general volunteers and approx. 400 leaders)
Application deadline October 31, 2014 (Friday)
Type of application Individual or group (2 – 10 people)
* If your group consists of 11 people or more, consult with the staff in charge of volunteers.
Qualification ・Person aged 15 or older (There may be exceptions when groups of local junior high school students participate.)
・Person who can come to the designated place at the designated time on the activity days
・Person who can participate in the volunteering preparation meeting to be held in advance
・If you are not a native speaker of Japanese, you are required to have no difficulty communicating in Japanese in everyday conversations and be capable of reading and writing Japanese.

Cheering Performance Groups Wanted

The Organizing Committee of Yokohama Marathon 2015 is recruiting groups of performers to cheer 25,000 runners at 18 water stations and other locations.
Activity day March 15, 2015 (Sunday) * The performance time can vary depending on the performance venue.
Performance venue 18 locations (planned) * All the venues are outdoors.
Groups wanted Musical bands (brass bands, choruses, Japanese drum players, etc.) and performance groups (cheering squads, cheerleading groups, dancing groups, etc.) for cheering runners and creating a lively atmosphere on the roadside
Number of groups wanted 18 groups (planned) * The number may change depending on the number of performance venues set up.
Application method Submit the two items specified below by mail or email to the specified destination.
・Application form ・Materials on your performance (photos, CD, DVD, etc. showing your performance)
* The submitted materials will not be returned.
