SPORTS YOKOHAMA Vol.43:
横浜スポーツ&カルチャークラブ
2014シーズンチームスローガン
Yokohama Sports & Culture Club
The club was founded in 1986 under the basic philosophy of “creating a community-based club that places emphasis on the spirit of enjoying sports.” With the goal of becoming an indispensable fixture in the local community, it was incorporated in 2002 as a non-profit organization called NPO Yokohama Sports & Culture Club (YSCC). Based in Naka Ward, the YSCC is driving its efforts to contribute to the local community by expanding the scope of its activity to include other sports in addition to soccer. Not only does the club have soccer teams for all generations of men as well as for adult women, but it also hosts events for a variety of sports, such as tennis, basketball and badminton, and many other activities including fitness exercise classes at the local health care plaza and school visit programs for teaching soccer to elementary school pupils and junior high school students.
The YSCC, which will have its 28th anniversary this September, has been recognized by the J. League as a “club that has lived up to the same philosophy of J. League since before the inauguration of the league.” The club is now a member of J. League Division 3, a new division established this season. This is the first J. League season that the team of the community-based YSCC has ever played. Why don’t you go to a stadium and cheer the YSCC team for their foray into the new league?
